Meet Jeff Bullied

“When people look at my pictures, I want them to feel the way they do when they want to read a line of a poem twice.”
— Robert Frank

Photography, for me, has always been associated with travel. My cameras have been my constant companions through 83 countries on 7 continents. From those journeys and adventures over decades comprising hundreds of thousands of miles travelled, I have had the good fortune to garner several international awards and recognitions.

I shoot whatever excites my eye and touches my soul. In my Fine Art practice, I most often find my subjects in urbanscapes and landscapes. On Expeditons, I am usually inspired by wildlife, environmental portraits and landscapes.

In recent years, my journey in photography has evolved into a heavy concentration in black & white imagery for my Fine Art photography. In this work I now find that the spareness, honesty and timelessness of monochrome oftentimes better convey the thoughts and emotions I try to communicate through my images. Greyscale, for me, best embodies minimalism and the surreal.

Certainly, though, for the right image - and especially for Expedition images - color has much to add. For images of wildlife and some landscapes, color is oftentimes an integral part of the story. On this website you will see both black & white and color images.

I hope you’ll find the red thread of connecting style in my images …….. an open heart and a curious mind, amplified through a thoughtful eye and some technical capability, to yield images that engage your emotions to celebrate this extraordinary world we share. Enjoy, and thank you for stopping by!
